Understanding the Client and Geography

Clau Clau community is situated in Mbombela municipality, less than 30km from Mbombela city. The population of the community is dominated by young people, because young people make it 70% of the population. Majority of the youth are marginalised, drugs addict as result of high dropout rate from school in the past decade.

Clau Clau Youth Development Forum initiates programs to try and change the young people's altitude in the community. One such programme is to provide computer literacy skills in the community in order to try and close the gap digital, in line with the rest of the world and to keep up with the world we are living in. The fourth industrial revolution (4IR) requires digital skills and computer skills to be a basic to young people in order to penetrate the workplace and also to enable them to start their own business.

The Forum is committed to creating a financially sustainable centre that will serve as an integral piece of our community for years to come. Through our research of other youth centres we have found that it is vital to create a financially sustainable plan in order to have long term viability. Therefore, we have implemented a thorough plan for financial success. While other programs and services will be free, other components of the centre will have a small fee such. We will also generate revenue by training ICT, creating CV etc. In addition, the onsite we want to put café and books store that will bring in revenue as well.
